Installation

If metal posts need drilled, mount our drill template to post in desired position. Peen each hole with a punch and hammer to make small marks in the metal as a guide. Remove template, and drill through each of the marks you just created using a 11/32” drill.

1. Insert swivel receiver into each hole of first end post.
2. Insert self-grip toggle into the opposing end post.
3. Starting at the end post where swivel system is installed, insert end of wire rope with stud on it into the receiver and turn fitting counter clockwise until threads on stud are just hidden. Make sure cap is installed on wire before proceeding.
4. Feed rest of the wire rope through all mid posts
5. At the other end, pull wire rope tight and cut where the wire rope measures halfway down the receiver.
6. Make sure end cap for this receiver is on wire rope before proceeding.
7. Insert cut end into receiver as far as it will go.
8. To tighten the wire rope, go back to the end post and tighten the swivel receiver by turning counter clockwise. Hold on to the wire rope with vice grips while doing so.
   • If wire rope does not get tight enough, use the releasing tool to get the wire rope out of the self-grip side and cut rope shorter.
9. Snap cap onto receiver.
10. Repeat for other 10 strands of wire rope.

Self-Grip Kit Install Instructions- Metal Posts

1. Insert swivel receiver into each hole of the post.
2. Take the end of the wire rope with stud swaged on and insert into the swivel receiver. Tighten by turning receiver counter clockwise just until threads on stud are no longer exposed.
3. Make sure end cap for receiver is on wire rope before proceeding.
4. Feed wire rope through all mid posts. At end post, cut wire rope until it reaches about a ¼ inch from the post when pulled tight.
5. Slide end cap and cover onto wire rope.
6. Swage stud onto end of cut wire rope.
7. Insert toggle into post hole and slide the cover and cap over top.
8. At the beginning post, hold wire rope with vice grips and turn receiver counter clockwise to tighten the wire rope. Snap cap onto fitting.

Swivel Kit Install Instructions-Metal Posts

1. Using our drill template, calculate how far from the bottom the first hole will need drilled for the wire rope. This is typically 3” from. Mount fixture to post using clamps.
2. Set drill stop on ½” brad point drill but to create counter sink holes for receivers. Using our drill template, drill counter holes using the ½” brad point bit.
3. Set drill stop on a 5” long 1/8” drill for a depth of 2” into the post. Drill a pilot hole over each of the counter holes you just drilled.
4. Using templates, drill holes completely through your mid posts using 11/32” drill.
5. Drill a blind swivel receiver into each pilot hole.
6. Follow steps 1-3 for the other end post. Drill our Self-grip fitting into each of the pilot holes.
7. Going back to the first post you drilled, screw end of the wire rope with the stud attached into the fitting by holding the wire rope and turning the fitting. Turn fitting just until threads are no longer exposed on the stud, then stop.
8. Make sure cap for the fitting is on the wire rope before proceeding.
9. Feed rest of the wire rope through your posts to the other end.
10. Pull wire rope tight and cut wire rope so the end is just past the flat on the self-grip fitting.
11. Make sure end cap for receiver is on cable before proceeding.
12. Push end of cut wire rope into fitting as deep as it will go. Snap cap onto fitting.
13. Going back to the first post with the blind swivel receiver, hold on to rope with vice grips and turn receiver counter clockwise to tighten.
14. Snap cap onto receiver.

Self-Grip Kit Instructions – Wood Posts

10. Swage stud onto end of rope.
11. Insert into receiver and turn receiver counter clockwise while holding the wire rope in place until wire rope is completely tight and stud is not visible.
12. Snap cover onto receiver.
